Thanksgiving

What is thanksgiving?
It is a holiday to express thankfulness, appreciation and gratitude for family friends and life, celebrated on the 4th Thursday of November.
Who were the pilgrims?
They were a group of people who had sailed from England on the Mayflower and founded the colony market the accasion by feasting with native Americans guests.
What is the Mayflower?
It was a small ship that carried 102 men, women and children in 1620 on its only trip to England.
It did not have privite cabins for each person it was different than it is today.
Who were the Wampanoag?
They were people who arrived to North America before Europeans arrived, and have survived until today.
What happened to the Pilgrims during the first winter?
The first winter was very harsh for them.The cold temperatures and snow interfered
to construct their settlement, only about half survived the first winter.
What did the Wampanoag do for the Pilgrims?
They helped them to survive. They taught them how to hunt, fish and grow corn.
Why did they celebrate the first Thanksgiving?
Because the Pilgrims had a very successful harvest in October and had plenty of food for the upcoming winter.
When is Thanksgiving celebrated now?
The fourth Thursday in November.
What I learned about Thanksgiving?
For me It is the best example we have to learn how to live in harmony with others, we should think in help instead of harm others. It is the only way the world could change.
