On Thursday last week, president Laura Chinchilla signed an executive decree declaring a national state of emergency as a result of damage caused by intense storms. If the storms had been less intence, there would not have been any damage.

69 days after becoming trapped half a mile underground, the 33 chilean miners are returned to the surface one by one to be greeted by friends, family and chile´s President Sebastian Piñeda.If there had not been people which could help , they could not have been rescued.

The Agriculture Ministry reported total and partial losses of vegatables on 380 hectares of farmland. If it would not have rained much, there would not have been any losses.

Broken Roads.
Accorging to the National Emergency Commission, 95 sections of highway were closed eight of which are national routes.If Costa Rica had built better hightways, there would not be any damage.
